Submitting a Technical Abstract:
Please submit your abstract electronically for oral or poster presentation by November 2, 2009. Abstracts will be reviewed for scientific content and relationship to the tentative Technical Sessions identified above. If accepted, oral or poster paper presenters who wish to publish their paper must submit a draft copy electronically of the full paper with author bio for review by January 11, 2010. Poster presenters have the option for submitting a full length paper. Technical review of the paper will be conducted by app0ropriate ASMR Technical Divisions. If the draft paper is accepted, the authors must submit and electronic copy by April 5, 2010. Final manuscripts must use either MS Word or WordPerfect PC software. The full length paper will be electronically published in the Conference Proceedings. The technical abstract format to use is shown below.
Technical ABSTRACT EXAMPLE
The Use of Spectral Reflectance as a Reclamation Tool1
A. J. Smith2, B.C. Jones, and C.D. Doe
Abstract: Detailed abstracts are limited to no more than one page including footnotes and should provide statement of the problem, methods and materials, experimental design, major results and conclusions. The language of the Conference is English. The title of your abstract should be short and descriptive. Indicate the presenter by an asterisk after his/her name if not the first author. The text of your abstract should use 12 point font size with the Times Roman. The margins of the text should be 1.5 inch for both left and right side. Units of measure are to be expressed in SI Units, such as gm-2 (grams per square meter), mmols kg-2 (millimole per kilogram). Non-SI Units and English units are to be avoided. The use of color graphics and electronic images is encouraged as the Conference Proceedings will be published in CD-ROM format. Please indicate the Technical Session in which you think your paper should be considered from the list on the announcement page. Identify additional key words. Indicate title and organization for each author. These papers will be peer reviewed by three persons. All oral presentations must have a written paper. This is optional for poster and case studies (oral or poster).
Case Studies are primarily for those persons who have limited data such as non-replicated demonstrations. However, these authors are encouraged to submit written papers but they will not be peer reviewed. One review will be obtained for each of these papers. All authors for either oral or poster presentations must submit an abstract which will be a part of the CD ROM. As an alternative, poster and case study authors may include an extended abstract up to three pages beyond the abstract.
